Your lounge or your living room is probably the room that you spend most of your time. It will be the one place you probably spend a lot of time in as a family and for this reason you will want it to be practical as well as comfortable.

One tip for a room like is to hang nice fitting dark curtains. These are ideal in the winter evenings when you want to keep the room cozy and the cold out. Depending on the general feel of the room with depend on the colour that you want, but generally dark colours with long curtains touching right down to the floor.

Remember that this is a family room and you want it to be well used. If you have young children then it is best to stay away from light coloured carpets. However don’t worry about your room being too dark you can lighten it up with bright coloured throws and cushions on your sofa.

It is easy to decorate your room for next to nothing. Pick up odds and ends at your local supermarket or brick a brack store; you really will be surprised what you can pick up. Just remember not to have your living room too cluttered, it should be a cozy but spacious room where everyone in your house feels comfortable and welcome. It could be a good idea to get everyone’s input on colour schemes etc so that the whole family feels involved.
